Located in the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno Mathewson Gateway Project, adjacent to Interstate 80 and downtown Reno, the new business building will enhance connections between our campus and community and become a showcase for iconic business in the greater Reno-Tahoe area.

By partnering with the business community in this exciting, prominent site, the new College of Business building will demonstrate the economic, social and educational impacts that transform lives, grow our already thriving tech and financial economy, and provide workforce and intellectual capacity to meet the needs of our growing economy.

Simply put, this asset will bring the intellectual, research and outreach enterprise of the University to the heart of Reno and be a source of pride and productivity for generations to come.

Student success is part of our business model

Smiling students at Commencement wearing caps and gownsThe College of Business is now the largest school at the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Reno, growing by nearly 30% over the last decade to more than 3,500 students in its programs. Projections show the college’s enrollment growth will be sustained with estimates of The College of Business enrolling more than 4,000 students in the near future. This tremendous growth demonstrates the need for significant investment in the college’s future.

This state-of-the-art facility is thoughtfully designed to encourage and support innovation, collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking for all Wolf Pack students. Here, students, faculty and members of the community will gather in a modern, technologically connected setting for classes and workshops, group or quiet study, presentations or meetings. These resources advance the University’s legacy of educating globally competitive business leaders.

Auditorium

The new 300-seat auditorium is at the heart of academic instruction, designed with technology, accessibility and acoustics in mind. Given its strategic placement and visibility at one of the most prominent intersections in northern ÁùºÏ±¦µä, this iconic auditorium will host industry experts and nationally recognized leaders for speaking engagements and business forums.

Gateway Plaza

The Gateway Plaza located in between the new College of Business building and hotel and conference center, will play an important role for northern ÁùºÏ±¦µä – welcoming visitors to our University. Wolf Pack students and faculty will use this beautiful outdoor space to gather and join in special events and activities.

Auditorium Lobby

The Auditorium Lobby will be located at the primary entrance of the first floor and greet our community into this historic new building. This gathering space will be among the most active in the building and will host networking events and employer engagement opportunities as well as usher students and community into classes and events in the auditorium.

Cafe

The Cafe will be the primary gathering space in the entire building. Located on the most heavily trafficked floor, this space will be perpetually used by students, faculty and community. The Cafe is located at one of the most prominent intersections in all of northern ÁùºÏ±¦µä and is a signature architectural piece of this new building.

Dynamic learning

The Reno-Tahoe region is an emerging global technology hub with marquee companies moving to our area. Providing dynamic learning spaces is an absolute necessity if we are to educate tomorrow’s workforce for ÁùºÏ±¦µä and the world. Our instructional case study and “flat” classrooms will utilize best in-class technologies to deliver a first-class education to our students.

Finance Suite and Trading Lab

The new business building will feature a suite of office, laboratories, and classrooms focused on the finance industry. Included in the Finance Suite is a dedicated Trading Lab equipped with cutting-edge technology, tools and training to provide students real-time investment trading simulations.

Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship

The new business building has allocated significant space for the popular hub of entrepreneurial activity on campus, the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship. In addition to supporting courses in entrepreneurship, the Ozmen Center will continue to demonstrate the importance of startups in our local, national and global economy.

Student Outreach Center

Intentionally located near the entrance on the main level, the Student Outreach Center will provide wraparound services to enrich and expand opportunities for students across all business majors and backgrounds. A space for workshops and networking, the center will incorporate upgraded technology, modern advising offices, conference rooms and collaborative space.
