• Featured Event components may be used on multiple schemas: You may use Featured Event components on Section Fronts, Section Detail, Profile Detail and Degree Detail pages.
• You may use multiple Featured Event components on page: If your page requires multiple Featured Event components for different event types, you are allowed to publish multiple components to a page.
• You may create a larger list of event listings (4+) with the Featured Event component: Unlike the Event Feed component, which is limited to four events, you can use the Featured Event component to list additional events through Featured Events components. Four is the minimum. We do not recommend including more than eight (8) events in a Featured Event component.

• Static size: The Featured Events component has a set size and does not flex to the event information pulled into the component
• Flexible event number: The Featured Events component allows you to include more than four Featured Event components.
• Use high-quality images: Each Featured Event component is required to include a high-res image. The required image size is 640x640px.
• Include manual links: Because each Featured Event is created manually, you must place a link for each event. These links do not need to point to Localist (events.unr.edu). But, anchor text must be unique if using links to different destinations.
• You may choose different background colors: The Featured Events component allows for gray, blue or silver backgrounds. Consider the look-and-feel of your page (e.g., layout, mobile experience) when selecting a color.
• No WYSIWYG: The Featured Events component does not have a formattable WYSIWYG field. It does have a paragraph-text only description field allowing you to place additional content under the Event Feed Title field.
• Categories are required: When building your Localist event list and widget, remember to categorize your content accordingly. Categories are created manually, rather than pulled from Localist. It is up to you to create appropriate categories for each of your Featured Event components. If you do not have a category, the field will appear broken on the page.
• Use a call-to-action button: You may place a call-to-action button at the bottom of the Featured Events component. Use this option to your advantage to get your user interested in clicking through to more of your events (e.g., standalone Localist events page on events.unr.edu).

• Select a proper H- or P-tag for your Featured Event:  Be sure to select a proper H-tag for the position of your Featured Eventw on the page to ensure you do not skip H-tag levels and adhere to our accessibility and on-page optimization guidelines .
• Featured Event anchor text (links) must be unique: Each Featured Event's anchor text must be unique to that link to ensure you do not create a multiple destination link accessibility error. If you are using recurring events in your component, be sure to edit the anchor text if the same anchor text is used for two different link destinations. The Featured Events component does not have the "Allow Duplicate Title" option found in the Event Feed component.

The required image size for Featured Events components is 640 x 640 px.
