Graduate assistant and postdoctoral scholar awards
Since 2021, the College of Science has selected outstanding graduate assistants and postdoctoral scholars to be recognized annually for their contributions to the College.
College of Science Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award
- Intent: To recognize the achievements of research and teaching assistants in College of Science graduate programs.
- Criteria: Demonstration of unusually high research success and productivity, sustained excellence in a teaching assistant role, outstanding service to the community related to their program of study or some combination of these achievements.
- Nominators: Departments may nominate up to three graduate students. Nominations should be routed through the department chair and ranked by the department chair.
- Eligible Nominees: Graduate assistants holding an appointment of at least 25% in a unit in the College of Science.
College of Science Outstanding Postdoctoral Scholar Award
- Intent: To recognize achievement of a postdoctoral scholar working with a college faculty member.
- Criteria: Demonstration of unusually high research success and productivity, sustained excellence in a teaching or mentoring role, outstanding service to the community related to their program of study or some combination of these achievements.
- Nominators: Units may nominate one postdoctoral scholar. Nominations should be routed through the unit chair or director.
- Eligible Nominees: Postdoctoral scholars holding an appointment of at least 50% in a unit in the College of Science.
