The book aims to identify how women have impacted field biology through contributions acknowledged and unacknowledged. Parandhaman has had a successful career, with expertise in herpetology and conservation biology, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Ken Nussear’s lab, where her work focuses on climate change impacts on the Mohave Desert Tortoise.
“It has been a huge honor to be featured alongside my role models in a book that will inspire the next generation of women in field biology," Parandhaman said. "I hope to continue doing impactful work in the future once I graduate from the University.”
