Summary
Jakub's research focus is on stem cells and regeneration. He received his doctoral degree from the European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing at the University of Groningen, which is in the Netherlands. There, he generated a suite of transgenic flatforms expressing fluorescent markers in a tissue-specific manner. After which, Jakub served as a specially appointed assistant professor for the National Institute for Basic Biology in Japan, studying the mechanisms of regeneration. Now, he is working with ticks as a part of the Gulia-Nuss Lab.
