Summary

I graduated with a Masters in Hydrogeology from San Diego State University in 2016. I’ve been working as a hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey California Water Science Center since 2011 focusing on the presence and movement of naturally-occurring trace elements in groundwater, and geophysical investigations of groundwater availability and movement. I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in Hydrogeology with Alex Lutz. My dissertation research focuses on selenium and metalloid cycling between water and sediment near the Salton Sea. I am especially interested in how mixed water sources and geothermal gases may influence the bioavailability and degassing of metals in wetland environments, and how those processes may potentially increase or decrease hazards to local wildlife.
