Summary
My current research involves building a robust methodology for U-Th dating of siliceous sinters as part of a broader effort to understand the relationship between glacial retreat and hydrothermal systems from the Last Glacial Maximum to the present.
After obtaining my anthropology degree in 2005, I began a decade-plus career in comic book editorial and television development. Seeking to combine my narrative skills with my love of science (and rocks!) towards science communication, I went back to school and received my post-bacc in geology in 2021. While completing a yearlong internship in geochemistry with the USGS in Lakewood, CO, I was admitted to UNR for my graduate studies.
When I am not rock climbing or backcountry skiing, I can be found cooking or taking care of my numerous houseplants.
