Cost of attendance

The cost of attendance, also called a student budget, is a university's highest total estimated expenses for one year. A school's cost of attendance is used to determine each student's eligibility for financial aid, such as grants and loans.

What is included in my cost of attendance?

The student budget includes direct costs paid to the University (tuition and fees, room and board for on-campus residents), as well as indirect costs (room and board for off-campus residents, personal expenses, transportation, and books and supplies). Most indirect costs are not charged by or payable to the University.
