ÁùºÏ±¦µä

Native American Alumni Chapter

This chapter is for all Native American graduates of the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Native American graduates of other institutions of higher education, and friends.

The Native American Alumni Chapter was established in the early 1990's. The purpose of the chapter is to bring together the Native American community, alumni and the University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä by sharing the American Indian culture and heritage on the University campus through traditional events and athletic activities.

The Chapter coordinates the Mr. & Miss University of ÁùºÏ±¦µä Reno Pow Wow for children ages 3-18 years of age. The Chapter believes that education is the key to success for native communities and they encourage youth and their families to experience the University though educational conferences and University sponsored events throughout the year.

Scholarship support

The Chapter also provides Native American/ Alaska Native students scholarships and support. Through our funding efforts the chapter was able to increase our scholarships to $1,000. The Chapter raises funds throughout the year to provide scholarships to a ÁùºÏ±¦µä, tribally enrolled student. Each scholarship recipient is awarded $1,000 toward school fees and books.
